The Surfside Association is a community organization that represents the residents of Surfside, Nantucket.  The latest news and information about Surfside can be found here, along with links to the broader Nantucket community and events that happen on the island.

The Surfside Association:

  • Acts as an advocate for area residents before the various town boards and committees

  • Endeavors to be a watchdog for our south shore neighborhood

  • Represents The Association at the Nantucket Civic League

  • Includes all area residents: summer, year round, beachside, and landside

  • Provides education and information on current issues

  • Encourages having fun in a social setting

Membership

Who can join:

Membership is currently open to any person, at least 18 years of age, owning property in the Surfside area as described below, and who pays such dues and assessments as may be levied by this Association.



Land ownership locations:

  • Westerly - South Shore Road and its abutting ways and lanes

  • Northerly - From the intersection of Fairgrounds, South Shore and Surfside Roads easterly to the Airport​

  • Easterly - The Airport boundary

  • Southerly - The Atlantic Ocean

Annual dues:

The current annual dues are $25.00 and are due the beginning of each summer season. Dues, in the form of checks payable to The Surfside Association, may be mailed to:

         Surfside Association, P.O. Box 3474, Nantucket, MA  02584.

 

$5 out of the $25 dues are used to pay for our membership in the Nantucket Civic League which represents all members of the 22 Island area associations concerned with the general welfare, preservation and improvement of the Island. The rest is used for communication (newsletters, website costs, Youth Hostel rental for meetings), and support of different Island organizations such as the local police and Nantucket Cottage Hospital, as voted by members. It is also used for membership development, and it has underwritten the costs associated with developing our Surfside Area Plan.​
